About Us

The Marine Prop Riders club was founded in 1951 with the aim of fostering Inboard Hydroplane Racing in the Detroit region. Our diverse group of drivers and owners spans across different age groups, ranging from teenagers to individuals in their 70s. They participate in a wide range of racing classes, including the 1.0 Liter class and the powerful supercharged big block powered Grand Prix Hydros. Additionally, we proudly host the Unlimited Hydroplanes that compete in the prestigious APBA Gold Cup class on the Detroit River. Furthermore, our club includes members in the Vintage class who showcase exhibition laps with the race boats from bygone eras.

Be a part of the action.

MPR members actively participate in organizing various races in the region. Many of our members are skilled drivers, while others contribute as crew members, scorers, referees, rescue personnel, and event volunteers. We extend a warm invitation for you to join our team and be a part of the excitement.
