1983 Staudacher wood hull, 21 feet long and 2200 pounds weight, powered by a 440 cubic inch Big Block Chevrolet, putting out 700 plus horsepower. Safety cell and cowling by Marine Services Unlimited. Paint and hull work by Sankuer Composite Technologies (SCT). This team was formed in 2007 by purchasing the GNH-445 (the Menace) from Dennis Macy, thusly combining part of Airborne Racing with the Menace, resulting in an “Airborne Menace”, the orange/blue and white GNH-515 ONE WAY (think on this: streets are named after this boat all over the country!).
2009 results: APBA Inboard National High Points 3rd place, with honors at the APBA Inboard Banquet, and our first GNH final win at Waterford’s Quake on the Lake. For 2010, with a bigger Big Block Chevy, the ONE WAY will be a force on the liquid oval! Look for us at Walled Lake, Mich.; Syracuse NY; Waterford, Mich.; Cambridge, Md.; Hampton, Va.; Celina, Ohio; Rocky Fork, Ohio; and Alum Creek, Ohio!
Airborne Racing has many seasons of success in the 1.5L / 2.5L stock class hydroplanes, taking Airborne T-13 and S-57 to MACH championships, APBA Region 6 Hi-point awards, Marine Prop Rider awards, a National Championship, and race wins at places like Valleyfield, Quebec; Sylvan Lake, Mich.; Cincinatti, Rocky Fork, Dayton, and Celina, Ohio; Laconia, NH; Green Bridge and Lakeland, Fla.
Driver Mark Burghardt has many years of success piloting hydroplanes, ranging from 2.5L stock and 5L stock up through GNH and Grand Prix. He is acknowledged to be one of the premier drivers on the APBA Inboard Racing Circuit today!
